Class Summary:
Explore bending and shaping of kiln-fired glass; use existing
and self-constructed molds; review glass compatibility, annealing
and hot glass assembly techniques. Experiment by producing
bowls and low relief work inclusion in stained glass panels.
Use of glass enamels as decoration also included. |

Class Summary: Students will have
hands on instruction with cutting glass shapes and curves. You
will construct a small panel using the copperfoil method. Panel
size approx. 9"x20". Explanation of using tools and
practice of using tools and safety will be taught during class.
Class price includes all tools, glass, chemicals, metals and
patterns, etc. File with glass instructions, terminology, historical
facts and extra patterns will be given. Question and answer
time will be given after completed construction of panel. |

Class Summary:
The first session includes training with components, terminology,
safety, proper tool use, tool sharpening, spindle turning
excercises and spindle projects with hands on instruction.
The second session is a review of the first session, green
wood bowl turning demo, bowl design and green wood bowl turning
project. Each student will leave with a roughed out bowl of
green wood ready to dry and complete.
Lathes at the studio are available for hourly rentals for
experienced wood turners. Please inquire by calling 478-994-8683. |
